Music Arranger and Music Producer
The role of arranger and music producer is comparable to an architect or a tailor who provides to the artist or to his client its expertise, experience, creativity and resources in order to create and deliver a musical product as close as possible to the style and needs of the artist.
The arranger makes easier the creation of a record, of a song, fitting between the artist and the structures of creation (recording studio, musicians, sound engineer, mastering, etc. ..).
This means that the artist has more freedom to focus only on the artistic side, his talent and his creativity.
The music producer is an artistic shoulder for the singer or the band and can bring an important contribution to the sound of the entire production
WHAT DOES A MUSIC PRODUCER DO
Why is it important to have a music producer?
I consider the role of the music producer to be similar to that of an architect or a tailor. He is working alongside an artist and contributing with his experience, creativity and professionalism to create a unique and tailored sound that can truly reflect the artist’s style.
At the same time, he needs to introduce his own style and personal vision to the project from an external point of view. The music producer is therefore a pivotal figure working with the artist and all the various components and people who are part of the creative process, from musicians and sound engineers to recording and mastering studios, and recording labels.
Ultimately the main responsibility of a music producer is to allow the artist to fully express his/her art and creativity while building the right environment to develop the vision behind the artistic project.
What is the difference between a music producer and a record producer?
A record producer is a professional who will help you during the recording session by giving you technical support, tweak and adjust all instruments, whether it is your drums, guitar or others, to give a great sound to your music.
A music producer, on the other hand, will look at the bigger picture and all the different stages in the music production, while helping you making the right choices on an artistic level, choosing the right musicians, engineers and wider process.
